does size matter?

After messing around with my jabberd, s2s died due to ip changing, I went around making sure all the misc jabber services were working. This includes dict@openaether.org which is a dictionary bot. (todo: link to js.o once it is alive again)

It takes a while for it to initialize and be able to handle requests, in the range of minutes. Realizing that rosters are the bane of any jabber client, I was curious as to how big dictbot’s was.

1,346

Thats bloody huge!

update: dict bot takes about 25 minutes to init.

It works for me and a lot of other people. Do the following steps:

    1. Subscribe to dict@openaether.org
    2. Send the message, “ping”
    3. You will get the definition of ping.

If that does not work, then there is something wrong with your client configuration.
